The hotel was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The manager was nice enough to show us where to go and where things are (like supermarkets, convenient stores, metro). The rooms were a little small but clean overall. The AC was strong enough which was a plus since we were there during the hottest day in may! Our breakfast was delivered on time everyday, according to when we wanted it. Overall, not a bad hotel at all if you are on a budget. The parking was small but free! The manager even let us leave the car there all day the day we checked out while we walked down to old montreal.
The bathroom needs abit of work in terms of renovations but it's clean. The area isn't the greatest but safe enough. There's alot of homeless and shirtless walking everywhere.
The staff were extremely helpful, and provided us with wonderful advice about what to do in the city. Breakfast was delicious, and the room was nice and clean.
Location was pretty great, petit dejeuner c'etait delicieu :) accommadations? you get what you pay for.
walls are paper thin! beware the weekends 'o ye light sleepers
The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was decently clean, and the price was right.
The hotel was pretty noisy at night. There was limited parking available (though it was free if you were able to find a spot).
I loved the room, especially the bath room, it was super clean. I loved the price and the complimentary breakfast. The hotel is centrally located and offers free parking.
The reception, no AC in the room, we did not receive the breakfast at the expected time (1st morning only after the 3rd call, 2nd morning delayed), the bed was making noises and the walls were rather thin.
Older hotel and very clean. Continental breakfast in room was great. Hotel staff was very pleasant and helpful. Park in the parking lot across the street, the price is very reasonable on weekends.
The Rue Ste. Catherine area is not a high end area. However, very good restaurants are available 3 to 4 blocks to the west and the walk is safe.
Receptionist was welcoming and shared maps, directions, and areas best for tourists to walk/shop/eat/sightsee. Continental breakfast was very simple but brought to our room at a time we chose which was nice. The location is perfect: on the outskirts of the Gay Village and very close to my favourite part of Montreal, Rue St. Denis.
Room was old and not in good condition. It was obvious that a paint job was all that was done to address the aesthetics.Efforts have been given to the hallways and staircase area which saves the overall look of the interior. But I didnt care since I was never in the hotel and I was looking for budget.
Location and price are great. Friendly staff were quick to correct an issue with cigarette smell in first room I was assigned. (Gave me a new room without question.) Hotel is fine inside, outside does not look so great... don't be put off.
The morning continental breakfast was a nice touch, and the French -Canadian woman who presented it at the door was very pleasant(I've forgotton her name, but I gave her a tip when I left for all her hard work). She also makes up the bed when you go out.. Considering this hotel is right in the middle of Montreal it is quiet and cozy..
The booking delivered what was advertised. Great location, great price, no frills, clean and welcoming accomodation. Our reservation was ready and waiting for us upon arrival.
Location, Price, Breakfast served in the room, Free parking onsite and Free internet
Poor facilities, no hair dryer in the bathroom, limited items for breakfast and bathtub drained too slowly.
The staff were fantastic. Very knowledgable about the city and helpful. The location of the hotel was great too. Exactly where we wanted to be and a stone's throw from amazing night life.
Access to the front door is via some high-ish steps. Not sure how people with wheel chairs manage. The aircon unit in the bedroom was basically falling out of the wall. The rest of the place was great.
The location of the hotel was very good for commuting to and from other parts of the city on the Metro. The hotel manager, Roger, was extremely helpful with our accommodations, very knowledgeable about attractions in the city and directions on how to get to them.
The staff were very friendly.
1. The car parking is a scam. Getting into it is very difficult. Once there (behind the building), we found junkies passed-out in the car spots. 2. The room was smelly (probably due to tobacco) and old, and the AC was very loud. We asked to change rooms from the 1st to the 4th (thus giving up a bed), and even though the room smelled less, the AC unit was the same. 3. Rate: After taxes, the hotel cost about 100 canadian. We canceled our stay after the first night and stayed at the Grand Plaza for about 10 more a night (with AAA discount). 4. No safe in the room. I wouldn't trust leaving anything in there. Gladly we didn't need to.
I was hoping that the negative reviews of this hotel were just exaggerations, but this hotel truly is seedy, dark, and -- quite frankly -- not very clean. It's worth staying in if you are trying to save money and want to be in the center of Montreal. Otherwise, some other place may be a much better choice...
I did not like the fact that everything felt dirty: the sheets on the bed, the carpet, even the walls. There is a kind of moldy overall impression that is -- I'm sorry to say -- not just an impression, but also the fact of this place. This hotel is in need of some serious renovations!
